Cruise Essentials

Must-haves, Smooth Sailing

These items may not be essential for you, but for some they work great for cruises.

MAGNETIC HOOKS

Cruise ship walls and ceilings are constructed out of metal. Magnetic hooks work great to keep items organized and easily accessed in staterooms. I tried many weight capacities of hooks hanging items from my refrigerator. Do not get any that are under 80 pounds. They do not work for the indicated weights on the descriptions, even for the lightest items.

OVER-THE-DOOR HANGING STORAGE

If you are traveling with multiple people and sharing a stateroom, this type of storage is a must to keep organized and to be able to find your items.

TOWEL CLIPS

Towels clips can be used on the cruise ship lounge chairs, excursion beach chairs, balcony chairs, and to hang items in your cabin. These particular ones on budget friendly and light weight.

MOTION SICKNESS PATCHES

I do not know if I get motion sickness because I have always used these patches behind each ear. I put them on before boarding and then halfway through the cruise. They last a few days and do not come off while showering or swimming.

EVENING BAG

Many cruises still have formal nights and having a small bag for my phone and small items is a must for me. This type of bag has bling, lays flat taking up no space and is extremely light weight.

CRUISE SHIP POWER STRIP

If you need a lot of outlets, you will want a power strip that is approved for a cruise ship. The main difference is that the strips are non-surge-protected. Check the specific guidelines of your cruise line before purchasing.
