Wired mesh covers for travel trailer furnaces, refrigerators, and water heaters are designed to protect and secure these critical components from the elements, such as debris, weather, and pests, while also maintaining ventilation and functionality. 1. Furnace Vent Cover:
Furnace exhaust vents allow hot air and gases to escape, and wire mesh covers help ensure that debris, insects, and animals do not obstruct this vital vent. This vent cover fit over the water heart exhaust perfectly. However, it came with spring clips that I found hard to use and they did not feel secure. Instead, I bought four 2" #8 stainless screws and four one-inch aluminum tube spacers. The screws fit into the existing holes and "voilà!"
2. Refrigerator Vent Cover:
Refrigerators in RVs need proper ventilation to function effectively. Refrigerator vent covers are used to cover the exterior vent of the refrigerator system, preventing damage while still allowing airflow for cooling. The covers help prevent leaves, dirt, insects, and small animals from entering the refrigerator vent. I found that the refrigerator vent covers are a little more tedious to install than the furnace vent cover because they are secured with zip ties. But these fit perfect on the 16BH. I have the dual fuel model, so I am not sure if the vent is the same for the 12-volt model.
3. Water Heater Vent Cover:
Water heaters in RVs, particularly those with gas-powered units, require proper ventilation for exhaust gases (like carbon monoxide) to escape. Covers protect the vent from debris, animals, or weather while maintaining proper airflow for exhaust. This vent cover was very easy to install. It just slips in and is easy to remove for cleaning and maintenance.
