SELFIE STICK
When traveling solo, a selfie stick is a must. Finding one that is compact, lightweight and easy to use can take a bit to sort through. One thing to note is that it is battery operated and not rechargeable. However, it does come with 2 batteries.
MINI-BINOCULARS
When considering a pair of binoculars for carry-on only travel, magnification, size, weight and cost are key factors. This particular model has a decent amount of magnification for sightseeing in Alaska and are budget friendly, especially since I will not be needing to use them often.
LED HEADLAMP
Useful for nighttime exploration or cave sightseeing. This one is very bright, rechargeable, has 8 different modes and comes in 2-pack.
TRIPOD
A tripod is a nice -to have item and really helps with taking photos at really cool sights. Look for ones that can wrap around items like tree branches and railing. Do be careful for theft in very crowded areas. This particular model is lightweight and takes up little space when packing.
CROSSBODY WALLET & PHONE CASE
I am in the habit of putting my phone down and forgetting it, especially when looking at items in stores. This one is much cheaper than the popular Bandolier version. It is also less bulky than other ones that I tried. The zippered compartment is great for local currency and coins. It keeps my money and credit cards close to me and all is easily accessed.
